Charles Drogkamp

An accomplished painter, designer, illustrator and teacher, Drogkamp spent his life in Chicago and Los Angeles. He studied at the Chicago Academy of Art and with J. Francis Smith and John Vanderpoel. Drogkamp was a member of several artists associations, including the Studio Guild of New York, the Society of Independent Artists, and the Society for Sanity in Art. He was also the director of his own school, Drogkamp Studios Art Instruction.
Drogkamp exhibited in many museums and shows, including the National Academy of Design in 1938, the Society for Independent Artists show in 1937, the Los Angeles Museum of Art from 1942 to 1946, the Society for Sanity in Art from 1943 to 1946, the Ebell Salon in 1943 and 1945, and at the Legion of Honor in 1945.
